The temples at Nara were some of the first of many temples we looked at while in Japan. The kids didn't appreciate the history much but did enjoy running around. We were usually able to read about the temple before we would visit so that way before we arrived at each temple we told Maddie one thing in each one that she could look forward to seeing. It worked wonders and got Maddie excited for each temple. I can't remember the names of all the temples...but here are some photos!

We have seen many temples in various places around Asia, but the ones in Japan certainly have a Japanese flair to them.
Wouldn't recommend bringing a stroller...most of the temple grounds are gravel and we ended up carrying Lily most of the time.
Such lucky girls to already be seeing so much of the world! Maddie can tell you countries she has visited and really seems to be remembering the things we saw. I love how eager she is to see and experience new things...

So weird to see my little girl in a hoodie and jeans...remember we live in perpetual summer in Singapore so our winter clothes are usually stashed away in boxes!
After a great day of temple touring...we got to eat more delicious Japanese food! Yay!
Next stop...Kyoto!
